Bring storytelling to life in your classroom with the Scene Setter range. Combining themed learning with traditional tales, Scene Setters encourage story retelling and character discussions combined with the modelling of traditional tales structure. Use the setters to help develop your classes literacy and speaking & listening skills for children in Early Years Foundation Stage and KS1. The Scene Setters can be used for the whole class, encouraging discussions about settings, events and principle characters. Use the backdrop to inspire story retelling, using children to act out the roles of the characters. Or use the paddles to encourage the children to take on the persona of a character from the story, discussing and modelling each character’s individual traits and how they fit into the story. Through the use of sequencing, character discussions, sentence modelling and retelling, your class are being provided with stimulating ideas to aid writing structure.
